Hardluck Coffee Co.
If you're someone who gets just as excited for your daily coffee as you do for Christmas then you and I have that in common! It's okay to treat yourself to the best barista made beverages and be a bit of a coffee snob sometimes!
Hard Luck Coffee Co is one of my favorite coffee stops in town, owned and run by two lovely souls that are not only great Baristas who have found their niche in the coffee buiz, but have created a friendly, inviting atmosphere that gives you a great industrial yet homely first impression with a funky hipster vibe!
The beautiful pastel colour palette is illuminated by warm lighting throughout the interior, bringing the old building to life - accompanied by exposed deteriorating brick faces, mismatched dining chairs, revamped old Victorian style windows, polished murray pine benches, antique like vases and sugar canisters scattered around the bench and table tops as well as plenty of greenery to complete the homely finish, making quite the mid morning chill out setting. I love taking the time to sit back and read a magazine or take my computer and make an office out of a lounge chair in amongst the busy, bubbling atmosphere of a good coffee shop!
You will also notice there are little trinkets and unique art works in every nook, adding a point of difference and a little charisma, one stand out in particular is the collection of vintage tea spoons that they use to accompany your cuppa! something you don't often see anymore.
Every now and then I like to opt for a dairy free milk in my coffee to change things up a bit, but it is one thing I find can be hard to get in country cafes (quality ones that are actually enjoyable to drink that is!), my favourite dairy free milk is Bonsoy, in my opinion it's the best tasting soy milk! these guys offer that, as well as other dairy free options if you're one to enjoy an organic almond milk or coconut milk beverage!
It certainly doesn't stop at coffee though - there are numerous hot and cold beverages to pick up on, such as the popular Kombucha and other fizzies, healthy smoothies and fresh juices, milk shakes, teas, hot choccy, chai etc.
In order to ensure perfection and consistency in every cup of coffee pumped out through businesses around the Country, All Press strictly require all baristas be trained by professionals within the company and use specified coffee machines. So, you can expect nothing but the best when being served a Hard Luck Coffee as they have been taught to create perfection!
Serving none other than All Press Coffee (A personal fave!), Raw Love treats (Gluten, Dairy and refined sugar free bars/balls of deliciousness) and house made baked goods, with both healthy and naughty options available. You can also expect to see granola jars, chia puddings, wraps, gourmet toasties, hearty soups in the Winter, and in the warmer months - beautiful healthy, hearty salads on display to tempt your tastebuds!
To add to this offering, Hardluck have just expanded beyond quick bites! now running a full functioning kitchen offering breakfast and lunch meals whipped up by their creative chef who has the ability to mix it up and offer meals a little out of the ordinary for a country coffee shop - meals that are so darn presentable they will give anyone who dines in a chance to post an impressive "insta worthy" pic! With half of the local population having lined up at some stage or another to get their hands on their coffee - It's fair to say that Tammie and Jarrod have absolutely killed it in creating their dream 'brand' - a cruisy, blissful, wonderfully designed converted old hippie store bathed in natural light, bringing the local community together for Coffee and a quick bite.
'Hardluck' is a quirky, tattoo inspired name. And, the artwork you see in the logo is actually hand drawn by Tammie who is quite the creative artist - amazing!
You can see where the personality of the interior comes from when you meet these guys, both having a great sense of 'street style' and body art to suit, Jarrod was also a DJ before Hardluck was brought to life - so no questions asked about the cool vibes that are thrown from this little business! Need I say more about this absolute gem!
If you get the chance to head in, sit down and relax on one of the lounges by the old preloved fire place or enjoy the beautiful sunshine at the front servery window, do it! I strongly advise taking the time to chill out, admire all of the hard work that these guys have put in to doing up the old brick building and soak up the good vibes!.. Oh and of course treat yourself to as many coffees and other bevies as you like.
Even if you stop by to grab a quick takeaway, this place is a must visit for sure.
